Another taxi shooting in Cape Town

The taxi violence in Cape Town’s northern suburbs is not showing signs of abating, despite a series of meetings between taxi associations and the provincial government. On Wednesday morning, three commuters were wounded in yet another taxi shooting incident. The police’s Billy Jones says that three gunmen opened fire on a taxi at the Old Paarl Road offramp on the R-300 in Brackenfell. The attackers fled into the bushes. This follows Tuesday’s attack in Philippi in which one person was wounded, and two shooting incidents on Friday morning. No arrests have yet been made. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime-Stop on 08600-10111.
