Green Point stadium remains in the limelight
The Green Point stadium is still firmly in the limelight and there is no certainty that the 68-thousand seater stadium will be ready for the 2010 Soccer World Cup. A packed meeting of the concerned Green Point Ratepayers Association and independent consultants last night discussed the impact the new stadium will have on the surrounding area. The Cape Times reports association member David Polovin as saying the study will be subjected to a long and drawn-out process and will be fought in the courts if necessary. The submission of the final environmental impact report was scheduled for the end of July.
