A victory for the state in the Baby Jordan murder trial
In the Cape High Court, the state has scored a victory in the Baby Jordan Leigh Norton murder trial. Judge Basheer Waglay on Tuesday morning allowed into evidence documents seized during a raid on the workplace of Dina Rodrigues, the woman accused of hiring four men to murder the six-month-old baby. Waglay ruled that the evidence would not unfairly prejudice Rodrigues. He said the documents seized with an invalid warrant would also not render the trial unfair. Rodrigues' legal team argued that sloppy police work in the investigation led to an unlawful search of her office.
