An 18-month-old baby girl was burnt beyond recognition when a Pretoria East shack gutted with flames early this morning.
The baby girl was asleep with her two siblings aged 9 and 12, who are in a critical condition in hospital when the fire engulfs their home in Cullinan.
Police spokesperson Johannes Jaftha says the incident happened at 1am in Refilwe Extension 5.
Jaftha says their 18-year-old brother locked them in the shack at 8pm last night after preparing food for them.
The cause of the fire is unknown and the case of arson has been open for investigation.
