Ten American missionaries have been charged with child abduction and criminal conspiracy by the Haitian government for allegedly trying to smuggle 33 children out of the country.
The ten will have their cases sent to an investigating judge who will determine how to proceed.
The missionaries will face extensive jail terms if found guilty.
Meanwhile, the death toll from the devastating earthquake last month has risen to 212 000.
