Police step in for security at stadium

About 1 000 police trainees were called for duty last night following security guards protest at the Cape Town Stadium over a wage dispute.
The Private security personnel claim they were forcibly removed from their positions, just hours before a Fifa World Cup match between Italy and Paraguay.
Meanwhile, a Parklands soccer fan was arrested at the Cape Town Fan Fest after repeated claims that he had a bomb in his bag.
32 year old Simphiwe Mshweshwe made a brief appearance in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court last night and faces charges of contravening the Explosives Act.
He was released on 1 000 bail.
