A man has been arrested when Mossel Bay officials confiscated mandrax with a street value of R2.7million during a roadblock routine on the N2 on Sunday morning.
“Four boxes containing 60 000 Mandrax tablets, which is an illegal substance, were found in the car he was travelling with,” police said.
The Cluster commander of the Da Gasmaskop Cluster Brig Lincoln said “If criminals want to do drugs and drug trafficking, they most rather stop as they will be caught and brought to book.”
He added, “They pose a threat to the wellbeing of society and will be routed out as we have adopted a zero tolerance stance against anyone who wants or intend to break the Law.”
The 43-year-old man from Johannesburg will appear in the Mossel bay Magistrates’ court on Tuesday.
He has been charged for dealing in Mandrax.
