Government marked today as the deadline for labour to sign the wage agreement which was inked on 13th September.
Government has offered public servants a 7.5 percent wage increase and an R800 housing allowance.
The nationwide strike was suspended last month, which affected the majority of schools and hospitals across the country.
Independent Labour Caucus (ILC) Chairperson Chris Klopper said “If you add up all the percentage of the unions that are prepared to sign, I think you will find that it is close to 42 to 43 percent”.
The two unions that have rejected governments offer are The Public Servants’ Association (PSA) and the South African Democratic Teachers’ Union (Sadtu).
