MEC for Social Development in the Western Cape Patricia de Lille will today visit Masiphumelele informal settlement to assess relief progress.
This comes after three people died and about 5,000 lost their homes after a blaze swept through the area.
Social Development’s Steven Otter says the department has provided close to 50 000 meals to fire survivors in the area.
MEC de Lille is expected to meet with community leaders and then she will be handing out baby packs.
