Donations needed in the Eastern Cape

The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro in the Eastern Cape has appealed for donations of blankets, mattresses and disposable nappies following widespread flooding.
The National Defence Force assisted with a medical relief effort at the Cambria Lodge in Baviaans Kloof.
Guests were cut off, but no one had to be evacuated.
In the southern and interior parts of the Western Cape, 41 schools had to be closed after being flooded or damaged.
Another 35 schools were disrupted because of high non-attendance.
