The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa will from today intensify their nationwide strike in the engineering sector.
Numsa general secretary Irvin Jim says negotiations will continue with employers later this morning.
He says however that they remain firm on their demands for a 13% wage increase and the banning of labour brokers.
Jim says they will be meeting with employers at 10:00 o’clock this morning and if their demands are not met, they will intensify their strike to a secondary one.
