Two arrested for drug possession in Cape Town

Cape Town police have arrested two men for being possession of drugs to the street value of R57 500 at the Cape Town International Airport.

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer November Filander says the border police members nabbed two drug mules after they arrived on a flight from Brazil via Qatar in a combined operation with Customs Border Control Unit at Cape Town International Airport.

The two men, a 25 year old and a 35 year old luggage’s were searched during routine checks and a photo frame containing 200grams of cocaine was seized.

“The men were later taken to hospital for x-rays, where they were positively tested for swallowing bullets containing drugs,” said Filander.

He added that they are still in hospital to allow doctors to remove the swallowed drugs.
