Selebi said to be scheduled for organ transplant

Reports have suggested that former police commissioner Jackie Selebi may have to undergo an organ transplant following diabetes complications.
Other sources speculate that he has suffered a stroke. The disgraced former police commissioner’s lawyers are trying to determine whether the appeals registrar or a judge needs to decide on an application to delay his incarceration.
Selebi was yesterday supposed to begin serving a 15-year-sentence for corruption. He was hospitalised after collapsing when his appeal against the sentence was rejected.
