The Democratic Alliance MP Wilmot James plans to challenge the decision taken by the National Prosecuting Authority not to prosecute Christopher Taute.
Taute the former mayor of Hessequa municipality near Mossel Bay
The Public Prosecutor Thuli Madonsela investigated Taute last year and found that he had abused his power as the mayor. It is alleged that he requested local business people to donate money to the ANC.
The committee led by the former speaker of the ANC in the Hessequa investigated Taute and found him innocent.
