500 suspects arrested in Gauteng over the weekend

The Gauteng police said that over 150 people were arrested in an overnight crime prevention operation.

Officails said the suspects will appear in various courts on Monday.

This brings the number of arrests over the weekend to just over 500.

The police’s Kay Makhubela said that the group was arrested for crimes ranging from rape to drinking and driving.

Makhubela further said on Saturday night they managed to arrest 155 suspects during raids and stop and search operations.
