About 31 motorists arrested in the Western Cape for various offences

More than 30 motorists have been arrested for drunk driving in the Western Cape.

Provincial traffic officials set up several alcohol roadblock pulling-over hundreds of vehicles.

Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said that they screened more than 1,000 drivers.

Africa said that the highest alcohol reading that they recorded was 1.12 and that was in Knysna.

Africa added that apart from the 31 drunken driving arrests they also arrested two speedsters in the Beaufort West area.

Africa further said three people died on separate accidents.
