The Minister of Human Settlements Tokyo Sexwale said that it is unrealistic for government to continue to provide free housing to people.
He said that government will be in talks with banks to provide people with loans who fall in the group market for home loans.
On Wednesday the Minister inspected a R400 million housing project in Langa in Cape Town.
The third phase of the project is under construction and residents are expected to move in by next year.
