Employment figures drop for May

A recent report released by Adcorp Employment Index shows a decline in Job creation in May 2012.

The Adcorp figures include all sectors and occupations.

The Democratic Alliance Shadow Deputy Minister of Labour Andricus van der Westhuizen says President Jacob Zuma has to make a decision, he can either choose jobs and growth or joblessness and stagnation.

He says the decline in job creation is extremely disturbing.

He further says the DA believes that the youth wage subsidy should be introduced immediately.

He added that should this trend identified in May continue for a full year, more than R400 000 jobs could be lost in South Africa.
