Search for illegal miners concluded

The search for the bodies of illegal miners at the Bontekou mine at Kleinzee in the Northern Cape has been concluded.

Spokesperson for De Beers Abel Madonsela confirms that the rescue and recovery operation has ended.

Illegal miners were trapped last week when tunnels collapsed in the disused diamond mine.

One illegal miner was rescued and the bodies of another ten were recovered.
