Department of Home Affairs disregard court order

The Scalabrini Centre of Cape Town together with PASSOP have raised their concerns about the Department of Home Affairs disobeying a court order.

This is with regards to the re-opening of the Cape Town Refugee Office in Maitland.

The two groups are now calling for the department to begin accepting new asylum applicants immediately. 

Advocacy Officer at the Scalabrini of Cape Town Rebecca Chennells said they hope that the department reconsider their refusal.
