It’s Women’s Month in South Africa and the National Institute for Crime Prevention and the Reintegration of Offenders says more needs to be done to combat violent and sexual offences against women.
Spokesperson Jacques Sibomana says a husband or boyfriend kills a woman on average every six hours in South Africa.
While women are being celebrated, government needs to take action to make sure they are safe in their communities.
Tomorrow South Africa will celebrate Women’s Day.
