The Law, Race and Gender Research Unit has welcomed moves to overhaul the Traditional Courts Bill in favour of women’s rights and voices.

The move was done by Minister of Women, Children and People with Disabilities Lulu Xingwana on Wednesday.

The minister stated that the Minister of Justice and Correctional Development recognises that the Bill threatens the rights of rural people.

Nolundi Luwaya of the deapartment said they hope the department in fact moves forward with the move.
