The Department Education in the Western Cape today unveil their learner placement plan for 2013.
Head pf Education in the Western Cape Penny Vinjevold said that the aim of these closures is to improve the quality of education.
She added that all the learners will be taken care of.
The MEC For Education Donald Grant in June this year had propose to closed down about 27 schools in the province.
Grant said that the dwindling numbers of learners at schools, poor matric pass rate and the poor conditions of the schools are the main reasons for these closures.
Many organisations are against the closure of these schools.
The ANC in the Western Cape had vowed to do whatever it takes to prevent these school closures.
The public has until the 3rd of September to submit their suggestions on the matter.
