Fish Hoek to get trial shark exclusion net

Fish Hoek in Cape Town will be getting a trial shark-exclusion net in January according to city officials.

The net is designed to address high shark activity in the area has led to three shark attacks since 2004, two of them fatal.

The net trial is expected to run for a year.

It aims to determine whether the nets make the beach safer and what impact they have on other marine life and trek-net fishermen in the area.
