Karoo residents protest for housing

A group of people in Touws River this morning took to the streets in protest of housing service delivery.

The protestors were burning tyres and blockading the highway with cement blocks on the N1.

Cape Town Police Spokesperson November Filander warned motorist that are coming from Laingsburg and Cape Town to be patient or to use alternative routes.

Filander said that the protestors are waiting for the Mayor of the area to address them.

Filander added that the police are on the scene to monitor the situation.
