Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille will not be allowed to speak at a memorial lecture in tribute to black consciousness leader Steve Biko.
Zille was set to speak at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape today.
This is on the eve of the 35th anniversary of Biko’s death.
Zille’s spokesperson Geordin Hill-Lewis says the DA thinks there was political pressure put on the university that led to the vice chancellor cancelling.
