The African Christian Democratic
Party has raised concerns about the Health Minister Motsoaledi’s recent call
for condoms to be distributed at school level.
The ACDP believes that it will not solve the problem of sexual activity among active school going teenagers but will exacerbate and just promote them by encouraging underage sexual activity.
MP Cherryllyn Dudley says the experience of other countries indicate the distribution of condoms encourages the culture of sexual sex.
She added that casual sex is usually related to risky sexual behaviour.
Meanwhile President Jacob Zuma President Jacob Zuma on Thursday urged society not to shy away from talking about sex education with their children, despite it sometimes being a difficult subject.
