The Institute for Justice and Coalition's latest findings show young South Africans have lost faith in politicians, with 50 percent of them believing that government has turned a deaf ear to their issues.

researcher Kate Leffko Everette says young people are very optimistic about
their economic prospects, and that is despite the economic situation in the
country.

The latest South African Reconciliation
Barometer involved more than 3,000 young people, between the ages of 15 and 35,
who were asked about their views on matters including government, voting and
law enforcement.
It is quite a difficult situation that they
find themselves in, because young people are struggling to get an education or
get into employment; but they are non the less optimistic.
