Three hikers had to be airlifted to safety, when they were swept off to sea at Plattenberg Bay.
The three were part of a group of eight who were crossing the Bloukrans River.
Five made it across safely and the three were swept to some rocks.

National Sea Rescue Institute spokesperson Craig Lambinon said when NSRI Plettenberg Bay Arrived on scene they couldn’t rescue them off the rocks, NSRI then called for the skymed2 helicopter to airlift them off the rocks safely and no one was injured.
