A woman arrested for the possession of drugs in Mitchells Plain

Mitchells Plain police arrested a woman after they found dagga and mandrax tablets in her possession.

The woman was arrested when police were conducting shebeen raids in the area.

Police Spokesperson Andre Traut said that the Mitchells Plain Crime Prevention Unit obtained a search warrant and they raided an illegal liquor outlet in Hollyhock, Lentegeur.

Traut said the 40 year-old woman will appear in court today.

He adds that the mandrax are estimated at R28,00 on a street value.
