Independent Democrats Member of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament,Rodney Lentit says matriculants from the class of 2012 who qualify for National Senior Certificate Supplementary examinations should take advantage of the opportunity.

Lentit said a matric certificate is an individual’s ticket into an active economy.

Lentit has said that on his way home he had an encounter with a young man at a garage.

The young man asked how Mr Lentit can help him in terms of going to another school to redo his Matric.

Lentit proceeded to ask him how many subjects he failed for the 2012 school year he replied “only two.”

Lentit then advised him on supplementary exams which he knew nothing about.

Lentit said he is now encouraging learners who didn’t pass their matric there is an opportunity and they must not loose hope.

They have to register to write their supplementary exams so that they can get their certificate in order to pursue better opportunities  in the future.
