WC Traffic Officials arrested motorists for breaking the rules of the road

The Western Cape Traffic Officials carried out 12 road blocks in the province this weekend.

Thirteen drivers have been arrested for various offences and two pedestrians have also been arrested drinking in public.

Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said they have issued fines totalling R80,900.

Africa said they also tested a speed of 14,343 and prosecuted 1678 drivers for exceeding the speed limit.

He adds that the highest speed limit recorded was 171km/h in A 120 zone between Brackenfell and Paarl.
