WCED-ready for the new academic year

The Western Cape Education Department is expecting around 100 000 learners to enter grade 1 this year and approximately 80 000 in Grade 8.

The Department says that it is as close to ready as it could be, as the coastal school re-open today for the 2013 academic.

Bronagh Casey said those parents who applied late for their learners to be accepted at school, they would need to be patient, while the department is busy trying to assist them.

Casey said the department aims to finalise enrolments at schools as soon as possible to avoid disruptions.
