After police monitored the suspects movement, seven people were arrested as they were about to enter a farm on which allegedly would be where the poaching would have happened.

Colonel Ronel Otto explains that the suspects were arrested after police received information about a possible poaching incident.

During the arrest, members of the Police confiscated three vehicles, a hunting rifle that was fastened underneath one of the vehicles, an axe, as well as ammunition,” added Otto.

She furthermore said that investigations to link these suspects to poaching incidents in the Lulekani, Gravelotte and Kruger National Park areas are currently underway.
