Three suspects were arrested this morning in Salt River. The two men and a woman were arrested next to a petrol station in Victoria Road.

The suspects were in a white vehicle that the police had been pursuing from the Woodstock direction.

The Woodstock Police Station’s Sergeant Hilton Malila could not be reached for comment after several attempts.

An eyewitness who wished to not be named explains what he saw.

“The police were coming from Dune’s, they were chasing the Mercedes which was white in colour; the police rang their sirens by Caltex garage.

“The car stopped, they jumped out of their vans with guns; they told the guys to lie on the ground and started searching the them and the car” he said.

The witness said one of the officers made contact with other officer until there were four police cars.

“They took the guys, and the other policeman drove the Mercedes to the police station” he added.
