A woman killed in an accident and missing hiker found

A Golden Arrow Bus this morning collided head-on with a car on Otto Du Plesis Drive resulting in a woman tragically losing her life. 

Western Cape Government Health Emergency Medical Services said the woman had to be disentangled from the car and was declared dead on the scene. 

Provincial EMS Spokesperson Robert Daniels said nine passengers of the bus sustained various injuries and were taken to hospital for further care.

Meanwhile Western Cape Government Health Emergency Medical Services has confirmed that the 80-year-old hiker who went missing on Wednesday last week was found late on Sunday, after a five day search. 

The hiker was reported missing by his wife after he did not return from his usual walk.

Provincial EMS Spokesperson Robert Daniels said the hiker who suffers from Alzheimer had his two dogs with him.

Daniels said the hiker was found dehydrated, exhausted and had various scratches and bruises.  He was unharmed and cannot remember anything.
