Cosatu says action must be taken to assist the educators and learners to be in classes every day.
The Congress of South African Trade Union
in the North West has called on the
Department of Education to take learner transport seriously.
This is after it was reported that most
farm learners in the North West have not been able
to go to school due to the late or non-running of learner transport in the
area.
Cosatu says action must be taken to assist the educators and learners to be in classes every day.
Cosatu North West Provincial Secretary
Solly Phetoe called from the Premier Thandi Modise to take the matter seriously
and ensure that the contractors operate well.
Phetoe added that this is demoralising to
the educators and the learners because they are missing out on a lot of work
and they need to improve on their second position that they got in 2013 in the
national matric exam results.
