Two people died in separate accidents in Gauteng

A motorbike rider believed to be in his early twenties died this when his motorbike collided with a barrier near the R21 Benoni off ramp.
ER24 Spokesperson Werner Vermaak said when paramedics arrived on the scene the motorbike rider was found several meters away from his bike. It is believed that his bike was thrown into an open veld next to the intersection when it collided with the barrier.
Vermaak said the motorbike rider was found with severe fatal injuries. Unfortunately due to the injuries sustained there was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead on scene.
In another incident, paramedics from ER24 Vereeniging responded to a motorbike collision at the intersection of Ring Road and R59 off ramp, Vereeniging.
It is alleged that the motorbike collided with the driver’s side of a bakkie. Paramedics found the rider several meters away from his bike with fatal injuries.
Vermaak said the driver of the bakkie was transported to Mediclinic Vereeniging for further medical care.
The exact cause of these incidents is not known and the police are investigating.
