Two suspects aged 30 and 35-years-old have been arrested for car burglary at a local chain store in George.

Police say the suspects used several remote control devises used to neutralise vehicle immobilisers.

Captain Malcolm Pojie said two off-duty police officers noticed two suspicious looking people roaming around the parking area between vehicles and continued to keep an eye on them.

Pojie said a woman entered the shop after locking her vehicle but the two suspects used a remote device to unlock the car and entered the vehicle and that is when they were caught by the two police officers.

“The possibility that the suspects can be linked to other incidents and theft of motor vehicle, are being investigated” Pojie added.

The suspects are expected to appear in the George Magistrate Court on a charge of attempted theft out of a motor vehicle today.
