The African National Congress Youth League in the Western Cape said it is disappointed at the Public Protector Thuli Madonsela’s failure to deal with the 2010 Hangberg human rights violation.

It added that in 2010 the Hout Bay Civic Association laid a complaint about Premier Helen Zille and the unlawful eviction of residents by the City’s Metro Police.

The ANC Youth League Provincial Convenor Muhammed  Khalid Sayed said the Hout Bay Civic Association  was told by the Human Rights Commission that the Public Protector appointed three leading investigators.

Khalid added that the Public Protector seems to have time to look into Nkandla but refuses to focus on what is happening to the poorest of the poor in this country.  They have called on the Public Protector to deal with the matter decisively.
