A body of an infant no more than 1-month was found in a garbage bin along the Bothma Street in Honeydew, Johannesburg West.

ER24 paramedics Russel Meiring said they were called by a security guard who was found standing next to the refuse bin.

Meiring said the baby was declared dead on the scene and the security told paramedics that a man had been scratching in the bin when he came across a body of an infant.

Meanwhile ten commuters were injured in a collision on Jim Fouche this morning.

It is believed that two taxis apparently attempted to pull over in the emergency lane, cutting in front of a bus.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said the large vehicle was unable to stop in time causing it to collide with a taxi, which caused a knock-on effect with another taxi.

Meiring said assessed the injured people and then transported them to nearby hospitals for further care.
