Couple shot dead in Tafelsig

Mitchell’s Plain police found a couple dead in their home in Tafelsig after they were called following a shooting incident on Monday.  The last time the couple was seen by family members was on Sunday afternoon.

Police Spokesperson FC Van Wyk said upon their arrival they discovered a body of a 29 year old woman in a room with a bullet wound to her head and right hand. A body of a 36 year old man was found in an adjacent room also with a bullet wound to his head.

The circumstances surrounding this fatal shooting will be investigated and no one has been arrested. A nine millimetre pistol was recovered.

The police have opened a murder and inquest case docket. The investigation continues. Van Wyk also said the motive for the murder is still unknown at this stage.
