KwaZulu Natal Police have welcomed the sentencing of a truck driver to life imprisonment for rape, kidnapping and assault.
Captain Thulani Zwane said she was taken a field where she was raped and left there and later found by a security guard who alerted the police and the truck driver was arrested after a lengthy investigation.

38-year-old Moonsamy Arumugum was
sentenced to ten years for assault and three years for abduction.
KZN Provincial Commissioner
Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni said this sentence will serve as a
deterrent to those who prey on defencless children who cannot defend
themselves.
