SA Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomes ANC proposal

The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry has welcomed the proposal by ANC Secretary General Gwede Mantashe in establishing a department off Small Medium Enterprise Affairs in principal.

Mantashe made the proposal at business breakfast on Tuesday where he said small businesses need the support from big businesses to work.

Sacci CEO Nerenn Rau said a number of issues were put to the Secretary General prior to the arrival that deals with the challenges that Sacci chambers are addressing at local level.

Rau said these challenges relate to improving the business enviroment for small and medium enterprises which depend on support within those enviroments in order to flourish.

“At a higher level we've also engaged with the ANC on issues that are of critical concern to business those relate to infrastructure development and investment and how business and government can partner together” Rau added.
