Accident near airport leaves two with serious injuries

An accident on Airport Approach Road this morning left a man in his fifties and is passenger seriously injured. This is after the vehicle they were in crashed into a truck.

ER24 Spokesperson Luyanda Majija said provincial emergency personnel on scene extricated the man from his vehicle. They resuscitated his female passenger who was found unresponsive.  As soon as she gained consciousness, ER24 paramedics treated both her and the driver for the serious head injuries they sustained.

“They were thereafter transported to two separate hospitals nearby. The driver of the truck was fortunate to have walked away with no injuries” said Majija

 

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
