Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry criticize toll increase

The Cape Chamber of Commerce and Industry said it is not happy about the increase in toll road tariffs. 

This as the Gauteng freeways is expected to increase by 5.8 percent as announced by the South African National Roads Agency. 

President of the Chamber Janine Myburgh said the tariffs should be going down not increasing. 

Myburgh said the whole idea for the toll roads was to raise money to pay immersive capital cost for new projects but these costs decreased as they paid off old loans, so there is no reason for the 5.8 percent increase.
