Nurses celebrated on International Nurses Day

Western Cape MEC of Health Theuns Botha today said as we celebrate International Nurses Day we should remember that nurses are essential in delivering health services to our people.  

MEC Botha said nurses have a great responsibility to improve the health of the population as well as to contribute towards achievement of global development goals.

Ministerial Spokesperson Helene Rossouw said that this year the message is that nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare.

“The International Council of Nurses theme is nurses’ forceful change; vital resource for health. Minister Botha asked that we support all our nurses in their hard work and their continued efforts” said Rossouw
