One dead and two injured in Hillcrest collision

An accident this morning left one man dead and two others were left seriously injured on the N3 highway before the Hillcrest offramp in KwaZulu Natal.  The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics along with other services arrived on scene to find the two wrecked vehicles in the fast lane with pieces of the vehicles spread across the road.

Meiring added that on assessment paramedics discovered the driver of the stationary vehicle had been fatally injured. The two occupants in the second vehicle sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

“Two patients were treated for their various injuries before they were stabilised and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment .Witnesses on scene stated that one vehicle had collided with the stationary vehicle in the fast lane, the occupant of the stationary vehicle was ejected from it into oncoming traffic “said Meiring
