Premier Modise shocked at the murder of a 69-year-old woman

North West Premier Thandi Modise has expressed her shock at the murder of a 69-year-old woman by her 84-year-old husband over the weekend. 

It is alleged that the couple were involved in an argument which led to her murder. 

Modise said the age of the suspect is of great concern as it raises many questions regarding gender relations in our society. 

Premier Modise’s Spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele said Premier Modise wishes to condemn in the strongest terms possible this heinous act which highlights the need for intensified effort to fight the scourge of gender based violence.

“Modise said that while she had made the call to men in insecure relationships to seek counselling and professional advice instead of taking matters in to their own hands,” Kgwele added.
