Following the peaceful election this week the Community Safety MEC in the Western Cape Dan Plato has thanked South Africans for their participation in these general elections.

Following the peaceful election this week the Community Safety MEC in the Western Cape Dan Plato has thanked South Africans for their participation in these general elections.
Plato said police officers worked around
the clock to ensure the safety of all people and that elections ran smoothly.
MEC`s Spokesperson Greg Wagner said following
the peaceful election day on Wednesday the 7th of May.
Greg Wagner said Minister Plato sent a
letter to the Western Cape Police Commissioner Arno Lamoer expressing his thanks
for the general as well as his senior management and every police officer in the
Western Cape for maintaining law and order for ensuring a mostly peaceful
election.
Minister Plato said that many of the
officers would likely have had to work long hours with some having to carry out
their duties in challenging situations.
His thankful that the South African Police
Service served the people of the Western Cape with such discipline and
integrity Wagner added.
